The Registration Process

  1. The registration forms will be released in early October on the GT website and will close at midnight Sunday 1st December, or earlier if  the number of attendees has reached the limit. A ballot will only be held if there is available space.
  2. Priority will be given to regular previous attendees. This is to encourage continuity within the Gaidhealtachd community. If you have not attended for any of the past 3 Gaidhealtachd, your application may be placed in a ballot along with first-time applicants, depending on overall numbers applying.
  3. The Gaidhealtachd is committed to encouraging families to attend; however previous attendees wishing to bring family and friends who are new to Gaidhealtachd are asked to contact the Registration Committee about their request. Additional people will have to enter the ballot.
  4. The ballot system
This will only be brought into play if there is an over-subscription.
After the 1st December deadline, spare capacity will determine how many first-time applicants we can accommodate. Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after this.
  5. Payment for confirmed registrants is to be received by Sunday 15th December. If payment is not received by that date, your place will not be guaranteed and could be released to the waiting list. Please note that we are no longer accepting deposits, only full payment of fees.
A payment received before a registration form is NOT considered a registration.
  6.  A fee receipt will be issued at the Gaidhealtachd only if  requested on the form.  Please note that though we are a charity, a registration fee is not considered a donation. Your own bank statement is also an accurate receipt in the interim.
  7. You will receive an e-mail notification of the receipt of the registration form. Please note this is not an automatic response, and may take a few days. If you have not heard from us within seven days, please email us using the contact form.
  8. Cancellation of event
In the event of the 2025 Gaidhealtachd having to be cancelled, you will have the option of a full refund of fees paid, or to defer the fees to a 2026 registration.
  9. Refunds
If a registration is cancelled by the registrant prior to 1st December, a full refund of the fee will be payable. After this date, a 50% refund of the full fee can be made before 20th December After that date, no refund will be payable. All cancellations should be made in good time to the Registrar, preferably by e-mail.
  10. Disclaimer
In exceptional cases, the Trust Chair, with advice from the other Trust Board members, may exercise discretion on any of the above process. Please be aware that the decision of the Trust Board in these cases is final.
  11. NZ Gaidhealtachd Trust Board reserves the right to disallow attendance to anyone. The ethos of the Gaidhealtachd is to deliver an educational, fun, creative, musical, community atmosphere and a sharing spirit at the summer school. Anyone whose behaviour contradicts such atmosphere and spirit, or endangers the safety of any participant, at the sole discretion of the Trust Board, will be asked to leave and may be denied attendance in the future.

We look forward to seeing you in January 2025.
